The Rock development

£330 million scheme by Thornfield Properties consisting of 750,000 sq ft mixed use development now underway, located at the end of The Rock. It will be home to two department stores, Debenhams and M&S, along with 60 other shops/leisure outlets, a 10 screen cinema, 397 apartments, a 1250 space multi-storey car park along with restaurants and new public spaces. The scheme will double the retail floor space of the town centre attracting investment and raising the profile of Bury as a retail destination. This exciting development which will help in the regeneration of a ‘Brand New Bury’ is on course for completion in July 2010.

The Knowsley Place Development (formely known as Townside).

Award winning Developers ASK is partnering Bury Council to create this outstanding 80 million mixed - use development.

The Knowsley Place development will link the west side of Bury's town centre to the public transport interchange, markets and The Rock.

The first phase of AskBury’s Knowsley Place which comprises two buildings, a three storey car park providing around 400 spaces, and new public realm, has now achieved practical completion.

Ask Developments formally handed over the keys to both Bury Council for their new 40,000 sq ft office building and to NHS Bury for their new Primary Care Centre (Townside Primary Care Centre).

Work is now underway on the second phase of the development which comprises a further two buildings – a 25,000 sq ft commercial building which is pre let to Six Town Housing, and a 115 bed Premier Inn hotel pre let to Whitbread which also includes a Costa Coffee. Phase 2 Knowsley Place was recently acquired by Bury Council. 

On completion, Knowsley Place, which is located opposite the Town Hall, will enhance the already growing range of facilities in the heart of Bury town centre and will offer the public a wide range of services.
